4600 Miles; build date 1/31/03; delivery 3/14/03

No major problems.

A few minor problems: brown coolant - flushed under warranty; weather strip between windscreen and roof came out - fixed under warranty; just today I checked the coolant and it's turning a purple-brown color (again), and the level was a bit low. No signs of leakage, tho. I filled it up and will keep an eye on it.

7700 miles, and haven't had any big problems. The minor ones: once the window quit the little lower-and-raise thing, reset per owners manual. Once a couple of warning lights in the speedo stayed on, stopped the car, restarted it, never happened again. Small crack in windshield on third day of ownership, on a cross-country trip, NY-LA, just left it so far......off to the Sierra Nevada on a camping trip tomorrow, very happy with this car....Bruce in Santa Monica

My small windshield crack was from a rock, not the stress fracture. I dodged around a truck that was spewing gravel, right as I was going past the 1200 mile mark at the Mississippi River. Made it past the truck with no rocks, and one came up at random from the road ahead, not the truck. I was bummed

Hit 7000 yesterday, no real problems other than the pesky problem with the seatbelt and airbag lights. Kinda annoying to see the red lights on the speedo all the time. Wiring harness is in and will be installed on the 29th. Suppose to cure prob - we'll see.

Build date of 08/02. We have put 10,000 trouble free miles on her. She even survived the winter from Hell here in upstate NY. Tons of snow and a slew of minus degree days. She went through the snow fine and ran great at 15 below. Wicked power but no tire grip at those temps! Only problem has been the sunroof rattle which is easily fixed. So far so Good!

5,000 miles since 1/31 delivery...car is perfect. That said, I did take 'er in for an AC tweak which was quickly fixed and no problem since. Compared to other new cars I've had...its great! AND...nothing' beats the feeling of driving your MINI every day. Too bad we (US) had to wait so long for a small car this good! It exceeds my expectations every day.

Rattle from both passenger and drivers seatbelt dispenser.

Boot latch knocking

Exhaust replaced

Catalytic converter replaced

Throttle housing replaced

Water in boot

Noise from drivers side window

Build 08/2002

Have seriously considered rejecting the car for a new one, but not sure I've got the will and patience for long drawn out negotiations (we don't have a Lemon Law here in the UK)

Other than that I love the car!

My car has been to the repair shop 10 times since I bought it April 4, 2002. I am currently waiting to hear back from Florida's Lemon Law people. I've had it. The had to replace a shorted out fuel pump and gas tank sensor. I LOVE MINIS but this particular one is on my last nerve. I hope to hear soon. Glad you all aren't having problems. I recently sold one of the two I had to buy a truck. No problems from the second one and I should have kept it, but I wanted to keep BRUISER because he's my first. Oh well...more motoring to come.

12/6 build 03 MCS since Jan 23rd, 12k miles
No major problems, but some minor problems.
The only one that bugs me is substandard windshield, but I'm sure MINI is well aware of that issue and working on giving us a better windshield
(right, MINI?).
Other than that a great car!

Feb '03 built MC. Standard except for DSC, sports seats and MF steering wheel.

3600 miles and 3 months into it, no major or even minor problems. It used to have a tendecy to bog in first gear when I accelerated sharply but this has abated in recent times. Great car! Hope it continues to be for a long time to come.

Thought I'd bring this thread back up again, since it appears to have been forgotten.

And oh yes, 3600 miles, 4 months, 100% problem free and smiles galore!!!!!!!!

I've had Mrs. Peel, 2003 MC CVT all Pepper White with
driving lamps, since January. She was a December 2002 build.
This only "problem" I thought I had was leaking coolant.
It turned out that the coolant tank wasn't properly filled
to begin with. Since filling it, I have had NO problems in
3000 miles. I check the fluid levels and tire pressure
regularly. I still haven't had to take her to the dealer
yet. (Knock on wood!)

I do think that people who don't have problems just aren't
as likely to be reading the boards. I have to admit that
once I resolved the coolant issue, I really haven't been
checking the boards out as often myself. But I know the
first place to check if anything should crop up.

I drove my first MINI, an all-Pure Silver Cooper, 12K+ miles and had no problems, other than a few squeaks and rattles. After owning her for 5 months, I had an opportunity to get an S, so I ordered Wanda!

I now have 13K+ miles on Wanda and she is fantastic! Best car I've ever owned!

Cheers!
