Jan 03 build, 10K+ miles, and no significant problems. Lately, I have had my passenger window getting stuck in the up position, but I'm not losing sleep over it.

Love this car! Just washed and detailed it, so at 10K miles, it looks like it just rolled out of the show room!

March '03 build, 2200 miles, nothing serious. The driver's seat doesn't return to its set position when you fold the seatback forward, and there's an occasional annoying resonance/buzz from the center radio/ACC/toggle stack, but that's all. Very happy.

Hey Bear, I have a stupid question:

When you move the seat forward, and then try to return it to it's original position, do you leave the seatback forward while you slide the entire seat rearward, or do you just lift the seatback and push it back? The reason why I ask is because the seat will stop moving back as soon as you raise the seatback. I think alot of people think there is something wrong with their seat, when in reality they just aren't putting it back properly. When you return the seat to it's original position, you should push the base of the seat back, and then lift the seatback afterwords.

I hope this makes sense... it's difficult to explain! Of course, if you are doing properly and your seat just doesn't work, then... nevermind!

I know you're not asking the non-S owners, but I read this thread out of curiousity. Not being much of a speedster, I'm happy with my plain ol' '02 MINI Cooper. Just had the 25K inspection.......trouble free.

turned 3k and the glove box started popping open over big bumps,
then smaller bumps, then from just closing the door.

dealer replaced the glove box door yesterday, and all is well.

no other issues so far...

cheers,
S-

Now that I think about it, this is the kind of question somebody asks in a government survey when the "want" a particular kind of answer.

How many have had ZERO problems.... then a few hundred people respond.
Then the survey taker does some "math".... hmm?
20,000 MINIs, only a few hundred responses with no problems....
The MINI is LEMON!!!! Thousands have maor problems.
And it's certified by my survey!!!!

Funny, but on much more subliminal levels---this is the way it's done.

Yfoiler.

5900 miles, and my biggest problem was that the sensor in the driver's side seatbelt went bad. Meant the car didn't ding at me if I forgot to put my seatbelt on.

6100 miles and no real problems in my MC. There was a rattle in the boot, but it was fixed and now gone. Like I said no biggie, just problem free motoring.

7300 miles and no major issues.

The windshield is cracked due to a stone, and I think it's a design issue insofar as the glass is too thin.

But the car has run perfectly since day one with no rattles whatever.

I have a April 2002 build MC. The only problem I had was a cracked rear brakelight... twice. Very wierd. But other than that couldn't be happier.

So-- this morning I'm on my way to the dealers for my first service and I have to mail some letters (well, bills), I get to the drop box, press my down window toggle, and----nothing happens. Window controller is MIA. Not a major big deal but the window doesn't go down that little bit when the door closes so the door doesn't always close properly, and won't till they fix it next week. First little problem in 26 months.

I've owned my mcs for two months, 2500 miles. My windshield was cracked the second week i had the car by something I did not see but did hear, sounded like a peble hit. My car also has the stumble, I now keep the revs higher when taking off in first gear and that seems to help. That takes care of what feels like a flywheel stumble. Other times there was stumble felt like a glitchy computer problem. The hatch door make a crackle crackel sound on uneven or rough pavement and when making certain turns. I hope BMW will find a fix for this problems. That said, I have to add that the car is an absolute blast to drive. I love my mcs.
