R50/53 Who hasn't had any major problems with there MC(S)
03 MCS built 12/03, hassle free 3500 miles.
Although I take good care of Freebird, I definitely do not baby him. I do have what I consider to be a minor funkiness with my Lapis interior, but I have every confidence the dealer will take care of it.

Hey to you! Actually, this topic comes up all of the time, but often the threads have different titles and therefore "there" (
) sometimes hard to find. The basic concept that you seem to be getting at is "who has a relatively trouble-free MINI." To add to the current lengthy list of comments, see this previous thread and this one too..
I'll note that I have had no "major" (what exactly defines "major" anyway??) problems with my Aug. 02-build MCS in its 12,000 miles. I've had the typical rattles (hatch, sunroof), coolant tank replacement, windshield stone chips (NOT stress cracks) and airbag light problems...but nothing I'd consider major and nothing beyond what I've experienced with every other new car I've ever owned. Unless I'm in a hypercritical mood, I'd have to say that this is pretty darn good for a first model year car in a new factory!!

03/03 build MC. Only 2 minor things. Right rear rain gutter trim loose at the
back clip (didn't fix yet, I'll wait till something needs done) and excessive
front toe in (3/8" -- readjusted to 1/16" myself).
1200 miles so far, so I'm just about out of the break in period. 800 mile
round trip this weekend with three full size adults and some luggage, so I'll
see how it does above 4500 rpm soon.

I will have had Tiki for 2 months on the 19th and I have put about 2300 miles on it to date. I love it. I haven't had any problems. I have not driven it hard or modified it, I have blasted thru some awesome twisties and I have yet to scare myself, and I have tried. Tiki has been a fabulous car. I have enjoyed driving for the first time in a decade I am excited about a car.

Only complaint is that the front tires seem to have a short lifespan. The outside edges wear heavily on the generally curvy roads where I live.
I'm at about 8000 miles and the only other problem is a cracked windshield, which I am not sure is due to stress crack or if it was hit by a rock. Regardless, the crack is small for the moment, but will need replacing soon.
All in all, I am incredibly happy with the initial quality and reliability of my MCS.

coolant tank is the only service thus far...and I am in the group who does not baby the car
every trip is a new discovery for alternate routes to work...
I only live 1.5 miles from work and drive everyday plus job site trips, but I am suprised...I took delivery in Nov 02 I still only have 4,400 miles! Most everyone else is at or above 10k for the same duration...
no complaints and tons of ogles

I hope this won't jinx me. No major problems at 3m miles. Small stuff like squeaky seat and clear plastic cap on shift **** (cracked off). I've been too lazy to take it in. I have had the strut bolt replaced (recall). I truly enjoy the driving experience.
4500 miles in just under a month. Only problem I have had so far is that I just can't drive it normally. Just begs to be DRIVEN. Not a problem I intend to fix anytime soon though.

Got a few squeaks, had a new coolant tank, and an airbag light. The squeaks have all but gone now the car is broken in, and the other two were fixed under warranty, quickly, with no problems.
No breakdowns, the MINI has been very reliable (KNOCK ON WOOD)!!!
13,000 miles to date.

I just turned 7k miles on my MCS. Cold start problem, doesn't really bother me. A center dash vent rattle at times, driver seatbelt retractor vibration noise, and a rattle/buzz from some interior trim on the back passenger side at freeway speed. Nothing too serious or bothersome to take the car in for warranty work.
10/02 build date. No major problems in 3200 miles. The only 2 I've encountered so far was the shift **** fell apart and the rear bolt recall. I don't drive the car exceedingly hard, but I definitely don't baby it, either.
