Finally got our new wheels....

The good news is that our BRG Mini is safely tucked up for the night in our garage. The bad news is every single accessory we ordered was not fitted, even the mats! Now, East bay Mini have been good to deal with, but as we say in England 'They couldn't organise a ****-up in a brewery'. Very, very disappointed with their service and not even an apology from the sales manager. All in all a very frustrating experience.

Thats really too bad, did they tell you it had everything ready and was set for pick up?

I can't address the sales dept there of late, but the service has been good so far - at least after all this you won't have to deal with sales again.

I'll tell you, when we went to pick up the car in LA I was ready to leave empty handed (or get a deal or pre-delivery fix) if it wasn't perfect (lucky for us it was fine), but I had already planned on saving $$ by getting any add-ons beyond the mats from Classic anyway so it made things simpler.

Well congrats on the new car, this will be past soon, enjoy and have fun

BritBoy, what accessories did you order. I'm asking because I ordered from East Bay and wanted mud flaps installed. I won't get my car for about another 6 weeks so there's no immediate concerns.

By the way, congrats, BRG is a great color.

I ordered, driving lamps, floor mats, a license plate holder, illuminated sills and rear bumper protection. They told me all the parts had arrived and they would be fitted by pick-up time, (yesterday). When I got there, not a single one of the accessories had been fitted and no-one even knew if/or when they would arrive. In fact they didn't even know I was coming to pick the car up, so I had to wait another three hours while they cleaned it. When I complained to the Sales Manager, she just blamed MiniUSA.......Good luck with your new wheels, they may have sorted themselves out by the time you pick yours up.

What an appalling experience. The dealer sets up a time for you to pick up the car and they couldn't be bothered to be the slightest bit prepared or apologetic. And how on Earth could it be MiniUSA's fault? For a Sales Manager to eschew accountability to that degree is unacceptable.

On a lighter note, congrats on getting your Mini! BRG is a fabulous color, and we all want to see it! Please post pics at your earliest convenience.

Hey Brit Boy:

I got my MCS from East Bay Mini too, had it since end of Feb. A few things, I got floor mats that I did not order, I didn't get my union jack licence frame or driving lamps as they were not available. I sent an e-mail to my sales guy who said that he was happy to switch out the floor mats, but apart from that I have been overall happy with them (I think actually I am just happy that I got my car) I will be taking my car back in a few weeks to have the alarm installed and hopefully swap out the mats. Just keep on their ***** and hopefully you will get what you want, I found that I had to constantly check in with them.

Good luck! and enjoy the car.

Really enjoy the color, the wife didn't like it so it wasn't an option for me.

I've also noticed that East Bay MINI doesn't always follow through on call backs. Hopefully that won't be a problem when I get mine sometime near the end of April. The MA said he would call me just before the build to make sure the options were set, but I haven't heard back and now the car is waiting for transport to the ship. Oh well, more adventure.

So, Cooper, did you get the driving lamps installed yet?......They are still telling me that they are unavailable.

Thats sexy!! I'll be looking into getting an MCS to replace my aging Audi A4 hopefully within 6 month's time. BRG/W is at the top of my list at the moment (although it always seems to be changing). Could you please post more pics (some side shots preferrably)? Haven't seen any other brg/w r56's posted. BTW, are those the leatherette seats?? They look really really nice!

Hey BritBoy

If it is the sales manager I think you're talking about I was also met with a smug attitude when I complained about the MFSW issue I had. She blamed it on miniusa, and didn't even seem concerned that I was upset about the mixup. She just seemed to portray an attitude of "we sell msrp so he'll buy anyway" You know?

EDIT: Great car btw

You know, since the MAs appear not to be doing their due diligence and the sale manger is apathetic and ineffective I would consider writing to the owner of the dealership, I'm sure they would want to be aware that customers are not happy and the cars not equipped or ready (or simply the correct info given to the customer) as they should be.

East Bay is owned by a large corporation as are most dealerships. They don't care for their employees and for customer they will only do so much. Unfortunately that is the way it is......
