HELP! unichip Flat spot!

So i bought a new unichip. And i installed it tonight on my 2004 JCW. I went out for a test ride and noticed a considerable flat spot in power at 5000 rpm. Does anyone know if it is required that i remove my JCW ecu program and return to stock programming? Last question! by having the unichip dyno tuned should that remove that flat spot?? I HOPE! any input of info would be greatfully appreciated.

5K+ is an odd place for a flat spot. What was the tune that was supplied with the chip? And have you tried both settings?

Okay i had the unichip set to the only factory jcw configuration there was. which is jcw, alta cai, miltek cat/b, 15% udp, all header. that was the only jcw configuration they had, now my car has 2004 jcw with jcw injectors, alta cai, alta IC, shrick cam, 2% crank. The chip only has one switch which is I or O, and the paper work said the " I " was the high setting and the " 0 " was the low setting. I thought the " 0 " ment it was turning the chip off. So while running the car on " I " that is when i had the flat spot, and when i put the chip to " 0 " then it seem to be fine, but now the car is throwing a chech engine light and my DSC light is staying on! So i have removed the chip until i find out more info. Any Idea? I know they programming is not idea for the car but i thought it would be close enough for now until i get it dyno tunned. !!

There should be a map number assigned with the chip that is the tune.

You have the right map & it should work. Someone with more experience with Unichip will need to address your issue. Maybe a call to DT would solve the problem, they are a Unichip dealer ( agokart ).

You're bouncing against the advance in the timing for the higher octane setting.
Flip the switch and you'll be happier unless you want to pay for some high octane racing stuff.
