Sap on top, tips?

So a pine tree was too close to the Mini and there is some sap on it. I am not sure what to use on this. It is tough sap as the bug and tar remover wouldn't even work on the paint.

Any tips would be great. Thanks!

Maybe try some "Goof-Off"?

It seems to take off anything. On the can, it says it can be used on cloth by blotting and using a small toothbrush.

Sorry, but I found your opening to be quite funny. You obviously love your Mini... it was the pine tree's fault because it was too close to the car. How dare it get so close ?!?!

We had a problem with a sap dripping pine tree standing too close to our cars, including the MINI.

Our neighbor cut it down and hauled it away for us.

Goo gone, will work, its a high citric acid, but will not hurt the top, then wash it quick with hot soapy water!

I read a post here recently that when even goo-gone didn't work, someone tried vinegar and it worked.

I do love the Mini, but I am sure it questions my love as I have neglected a good detail for a while. This sap issue has made me question my attention and realize that I have been a negligent owner.

Thanks for the suggestions. I saw the post on the Vinegar but wasn't sure if it would work for sap. I guess it is worth the try. I will try goo-gone as well. My concern was staining of the fabric, but if it states it is okay on fabric I will try it out.

May need a new top due to early wear anyway if it doesn't work.
