door cables

6 months ago the door cable broke on my new '05 MCS Cabrio and i couldn't open it from the inside. The fix lasted until recently. 2 weeks ago both cables broke (driver, passenger). I took it in July 3 and was told the Mini engineers have a fix. The fix lasted about 6 hours for my driver's side door. I have to get it back in for the 3rd time for this problem. Anyone else have this problem?

Yeah i had the same problem but only once on my passenger side when i took it in they fixed it and my s.a. said that it happens all the time and that the fix for it was epoxying it to the door.

epoxying it to the door sounds more like a Jigger solution rather than a solution.

Ditto

I am taking my 05 convertible in today for the passenger door. My nearest Mini dealer is 2 1/2 hours away, so I am going local. I will pass along this info to them. Misery loves company, eh?

Not sure if this is related, but i've recently noticed when trying to exit out of the passenger side, the occupant needs to "shoulder check" the door to get out. Its like the door latch isn't properly disengaging when they pull the handle....
I have an appointment on the 27th of July to have it looked at...
