Mine's going to be a Panasonic active black panel/touch screen head unit, blade amp, Oz front component speakers, and probably focal 6x9's for the back. No subs, but in a car this small (and with such great acoustics) who needs subs?

Mikey,
I've got an older Rockford 8160 head unit I'll be swaping over. Also have a set of MB Quart comps.... a set of MB Quart 6x9's if they fit. I'm still trying to decide on the sub. I've got a RF Power Punch 12 (which may go up for sale when I get my MINI) that I haven't decided on yet.
I was kicking around the idea of those Bass shakers...... No experience with them though.... Anyone ever tried them?
Beyond that I've got Two Rockford Amps Total wattage is around 1K.
Not looking for Thumping bass but Super Clairity!
By the way.... The acoustics for the MINI should be great! I can't wait!

I would LOVE to replace that factory head unit - but I like the multi-function steering wheel controls. I just shutter at the thought of loosing this component for an aftermarket radio.

What I plan on doing is stick with the factory head unit, replace all speakers and get a micro sub in there somewow - maybe the Kenwood WOOX:

It is self powered and quite amazing - I heard one recently and couldn't believe the low range - especially in a hatchback.

Just my .02

I think I'm gonna go with a Pioneer DehP-9400mp, a JL 8 or 10w6, MB Quart components up front and probably a Soundstream multi channel amp. I have Oz in my accord now (which sound great) but I'm leaving them in my car, along with my Soundstream referance 705(I hate to get rid of it), to make it more appealing to sell. I hope the MINI sounds as good as the Accord!

I'm sticking with stock stereo with 6cd changer and multi function steering wheel. It sounds fine and when there's serious motoring to be done you should be listening to the sweet sounds of the engine and tires.

This sounds like a very nice system!!
Personally.... I would love to have one of the new Pioneer head units. IMO They of the best available these days. Anyone played with that new HD Pioneer? I think it's around 1500.00

I've been ordering my system piece by piece so its all here by mid August when my MINI Cooper S arrives. Doing the install myself:

-Alpine CDA-7995 in dash CD/CDR/MP3 player
-XM Radio
-Replacing all speakers with MB Quarts
-2 Alpine Amps

With two Alpine subs you're probably going to have to amp though
