I've read through some posts regarding the installation of the Ice-link Plus and I couldn't find my answer. What do the connectors look like? I have a mid 2005 build MCSa with H/k. I looked in the RH side access panel in the boot and saw the amp and the bundle underneath with 2 small connectors that were free. Are those it? or is the connection in the RH boot access panel? I didn't see one. Does anyone have any tips for the feeding of the wires to the front?

Those are it. They are the 2 rectangle connectors in the bundle of wires under the amp. Just snap them in, and run the wire up under the passanger door trim and you are all set.

It took me less than an hour to install the Ice Link Plus on my '06 MCS.

 

thanks for the fast reply! One more question, should i disconnect the battery before doing this installation? I don't think our radio's have security codes, right? I looked in the manual and found nothing about that.
Did you just follow the factory wire harness back to the front?

Nope, no security code.

It's a good idea to disconnect the battery, takes just a moment, and doesn't hurt anything if you do.

Yes, I just followed the rear wiring harness all the way up to the front quarter panel and stashed the ice-link module behind the glovebox.

One suggestions I'd offer is before putting all the panels back in place, take a test drive and see if there is a strong electrical whine while driving. Listen so something with quiet passages (i.e. not the latest Ministry album ) and you should be able to hear it. I'm able to hear it even with the ipod disconnected and the CD Changer input selected on the H/U. The reason I make this suggestion is that it may save you time from tearing everything apart again to replace it with the updated H/W from Dension if you're not happy.

well my hubby and I are starting to install this thing and cannot figure out how the panels come off. Is there a FAQ or DIY section here for that? Do you start by removing the rear panel in the boot to let the large one on the right come free? Do we have to remove the right seat back? is there a trick to this?

we did not end up taking any panels off. we (I ) just tucked the cable just underneath the plastic door trim. that is all. Thanks for the help though. NOT a 15 min job though.

 

15 min if you would have gone the HU version route.

I just got my Ice-link plus yesterday. Because cube17576 was so clear about where the connectors were I opened up the rear access panel when I when out this morning to drive to work. *Snap* snap* and though the harness has yet to be hidden I listened to my iPod mini on the commute!
