alignment decision

Hi all:

I need my fellow Mini memebrs for some suggestion. I am making a decision as to whether I should bring in my car (other car, not the mini) for alignment. It's never had that done since brand new (yr 2000) and there's no suspension upgrade other than upgraded rims and tires. Tires seem to be wearing evenly and car tracks straight. Is it a waste of money? Thank you all.

unless you are specifically having issues, just leave it a lone. unless you
take it into a reputable tech chances are they will screw up the alignment
for you.

if the steering wheel is straight, car tracks straight and the tires wear evenly, don't do it... you might disrupt a perfectly good system you already have going.

I'll agree with the others, unless you are looking to change the handling characteristics of your car. The right alignment can make a world of difference.

If the car is just a daily driver and you aren't looking for additional cornering grip, leave it alone.

I can attest to the fact that yes, crappy shops will be more than willing to accept your money and make your car worse than it was before. I've made that mistake before.
