R50/53 Traded my 05 MCS for an 06 S2000
Traded my 05 MCS for an 06 S2000
Everybody was shocked when I traded my beloved 8-month-old PS MCS with 3777 miles and went for an S2000. I have always loved this Honda, but I never test drove one in fear of actually falling in love with the car. Well, about a month ago, in a weak moment, I tried one. Now, I have one. I really miss my MINI, but I am just amazed by my new S2000. What a car! No rattles, smooth, and RWD. The engine makes this beautiful mechanical symphony. The gearbox is perhaps the best in the world.
My ultimate dream would be to have fully optioned JCW MCS or the new lightweight MINI GP and my new S2000 in my stable. Now that would be something to salivate over.
I will have to see how the 07 MINI turns out. I could be driving another MINI in a few years again.

Congrats...I know you'll love the S2000 as I jsut traded my '00 S2K for an '06 JCW MCS. Good luck and check out s2ki.com...an excellent forum jsut like here. And now a supercharger will only cost you $5k

The Honda S2K was on our long list when we were deciding what to buy. It did not make the short list because I am not short enough to fit comfortably. Blast to drive though. Good choice.

Nice! What color S2000 did you get? I used to have one - loved it - sold it when we moved to CA and got the MINI Cabrio....but I still miss the S2000. Went to the car show at the San Diego Convention Center yesterday and saw the new S2000 in Laguna Blue - wow - very nice color!!
Enjoy..

i like those newer S2000's... the one with the 2.2L and the latetest ones
even come with dummy control (dynamic stability control), right?
very good for street dry or wet.
congrats.
ive been seriously considering getting one but it being a convertible has
always taken a step back for me. i prefer coupes. not sure if the 06's
offer the black interior with red insert seats. those look so nice too.
have fun with your new ride!

Congrats--the S2000 is truly a wonderful car. Definitely a drivers car; I'm always amazed at some of the cars people cross shop with the Mini S, but the S2000 is one that makes perfect sense for someone who enjoys the Mini.
A friend of mine has one, his description was that the S2000 was the closest thing to a sport bike on four wheels - lots of high end power and a convertible to boot. I always liked that description. The Mini's the go kart, the S2000 is the sport bike! Both are fun.
Golf clubs will fit! No doubt!
Everybody is so nice and supportive on this website! Nobody is knocking my choice of giving up my MINI. On some of the online S2000 forums, people are so rude and close minded.
I heard of 220 hp Honda Civic V-Tech engines is classic MINI's, but I was thinking what if the modern MINI originally would have had the 2.2L S2000 engine and gearbox in it? 237HP/ 162FT/LB torque and an 8000 RPM redline!!!!!

The Honda S2000 is one of the truly interesting Honda cars aside from the now defunct Acura NSX supercar. I like it for what it is but I don't see myself trading my MCS for one
The S2000 is both a convertible and a 2-seater roadster which believe it or not are big turn offs for me. Like others said, if Honda (Doubtful) ever makes a 2+2 GT version of the S2000 as a hardtop that would be a very nice car to add to the MINI garage, but a car that has no back seat and no real practicality is not really of my immediate interest. The MINI embodies the nature of a truly fun car to drive with some practicality thrown into the mix. I love to be able to motor with more than 1 passenger. Unfortunately, that is not doable in the S2000 or any other 2 seater for that matter.
I haven't really been following the evolution of the S2000 since it was introduced, but what major changes have taken place in the last few years?
How does it compare to the current BMW Z4?

Again, congratulations on your new car and make sure to post pics. Something tells me that you will spend more time here than in the S2000 internet forums given the apparent arrogance and cockiness of their subscriber base.
I noticed an 05' S2000 in the Little Rock newspaper a few months ago. It had, I think, 18,000 miles. The price listed was 19999.99. Not sure what the cost should be, but they are great looking cars that always get good write-ups in the auto mags. It seemed like a good deal. I'd love to have one to go with MINI.
Have fun.
Have fun.
