My New Whalen Shift ****

I orderd a custom shift **** from Doug Whalen just two days ago and today it came in the mail. I orderd it for my Christmas present from my wife and asked her if she would like to see it before she wraped it(sucker) . She told me I could go ahead and put it on so before she could say just kidding I was in the garage. I heard that getting the old **** off was hard to do but I guess I was so excited that I was able to yank that sucker right off. Man am I stoked . This **** is a work of art. I really had no idea how heavy this **** was going to be, It seems to guide the shifter right into the gate and it look's awsome. I orderd a polished **** with just a six speed pattern and for a custom touch I had Doug put my car's nickname "BOO" under the pattern. Thank's Doug for a great job, you made my day.

Don't mean to steal your thread but it doesn't really make sense to start a new one. I also ordered a **** from Doug a couple of days ago (Thursday). Haven't received it yet but expect it to arrive on Monday. This will be my second Whalen **** for my third MINI. Although I haven't seen the **** in person yet, Doug sent a picture taken outside in the snow. Brushed aluminum with a polished center, looks so much better than I would have imagined even after already knowing what a great job Doug does.

I like it, though on a brittish car it would be funny to have the hand the other way around.

I love my Whalen too.

I'll take a picture next week. I'm sure there will be a few who will want to ad a picture to this thread when they get theres or if they already have one,so go ahead. I really like the two shifters posted, they are very nicely done and very creative. I very much like the frog in the middle with the numbers spred around the edge as well as having it polished in the middle and brushed all around the sides.I think if I had seen pictures of some of these idea's I would have gone crazy. My shifter is rather plain in comparison but that is really what I wanted. Simple with just a little something that says it's mine. I took "BOO" to work last night and the sifter worked just like I had hoped it would. It's also the only crome in the cockpit so it stands out nicely.

pw/b,pp,sp,cw,lsd,hc,rf,pb/rtc,h-sport springs, whalen shift machine. the list grows

Tell me thats not your hand in the picture!! I just saw the "Man hands" episode of Seinfeld.

Oh, and Sid, do you still have the M3? My friend just put an RMS supercharger in his. Its fast. Not that I even needed to clairify.

Just making sure they werent queenies hands, and its not a bad thing, I wish my hands were that manly. I guess my arms are big enough to make up for my non "53 year old" hands.

Hey, what's new in Rapid City, these days?

I spent two years at Ellsworth in the late 70's.

Always enjoyed driving through the Black Hills in my '73 Midget.
Didn't always enjoy the flightline during the middle of winter, though.

Small world, eh?
I'm actually about three miles west of Freeport on Pearl City Rd. Just down the road from Highland College.

I have a guy putting a new website together for me (though he seems to AWOL at the moment!); and it will make mention of pool ball *****, stone inlaid *****, as well as something new that isn't quite ready to be announced yet.

If you're ever in the mood for a drive (not in today's weather, though!), look for this place.

Sorry.
No, I've been so busy with industrial work lately, that I'm doing good just to keep up with what's already on my plate.

I can probably take a look at it at some later date; but for now, Honeywell is dumping so much work on me, that I can hardly see straight.

I have to take as much of that work as I can; they're liable to lose their minds again and cut me off, like they did a few years ago.

Sure, come on by any time! I'll be out here in the shop, chained to the machinery.
