Added Milltek cat back to 06 MCS tonight.....

....and it sounds great. I only have 200 miles on the car so I'm not able to check it out fully yet but so far it seems like it's going to do very well. The install took me just under 3 hours as this is something I normally take somewhere and have it done. Man, dropping the OEM exhaust was rough. That thing must weigh a ton. At least it felt like it when I pulled it free.

I had read many comments about the Milltek hangers not working exactly right and causing vibrations and rattles or making the tips hit the rear valence. While I was installing the Milltek, I went ahead and took some extra time to make sure most of the heat sheild along the car was moved as much away from the exhaust as possible. Also, I took 3 5/16 washers and added them to each bolt on the rear hangers and this made the tips fit perfect. The mounting went great and everything lined up as one would hope for. So far, fingers crossed, no rattles or leaks.

I thought I would take the time to post some pictures of the tips and how they lined up and a short before and after video for those considering the Milltek.

Here is the short video clip of before and after. Audio/Video

thank you so much for doing a before and after movie with sound on this. Interesting at idle, it doesn't sound *that* much different...

...of course, when you wind it up....

Also, it's funny that it is all bright out when you start, and dusk when you finish!

Not much louder, but sounds more direct/snappier.

It is next on my list, but not untill march after the snow melts.

Thanks for sharing, I'm thinking about the Milltek too, I have 2 sets of headers, one is 2 1/4" and would work with Borla Sport and the other one is OBX and is 2 1/2" and would be for the Milltek, I have to decide which one to go with.

Thanks skuzy, I think I might do that, I've had Borla on my 91 ZR1 when I bought it and it was cr*p, I gave it away after 1 month, I also prefer the 2 1/2" of Milltek, did you know Borla's warranty is only good as long as they keep producing that part, once they discontinue a part, you're out of luck about their warranty, try to get a constant failing resonator for a ZR1, even if the car has only 1k mile, they'll tell you they don't make it anymore.
I'd like to modify my OBX though, I want to cut the pipe coming out of the mounting flange and mount it flush with a gasket between the 2 flanges but I'll need to find a flexible section like on the stock system but won't use a cat, do anyone know where I can find such a thing in 2 1/2"?

hey mate - dont know anyone that can help u there ( i live in another country to u )

just wanted to mention. u can go for the obx header/miltek combo, get rid of the resonator in the miltek and do a custom straight piping from the cat. that would make the miltek louder ( im assuming here)

or u can go the mthheader 400cell cat/miltek combo.. apparently its really good.. heres the thread. https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ad.php?t=50746

aparently gains from th mth header is incredible - im still reading on it and see what others say..

good luck mate - ill be interested to see what u decide on
