HK is on but no sound

Little help guys...I was running my HK kinda loud and it was hot out. After a while the sound shut off. The head unit still displayed and changed channels, etc. but no sound. I waited 6 hours for it cool down but the sound is still gone. Please tell me there's a blown fuse somewhere and that I didn't fry the amp

There's a blown fuse somewhere and you didn't blow the amp.

You need to find out if the output section of the amp is fused. It will most likely require that you remove the HU to reset it. Worst case is that you fried the output section.
Good luck

I highly doubt you burned the amp. I've been blasting my HK for all of the 6k miles that i had Vader for, except for the Dyno Time.

doesnt the HK amp have another fuse in the fusebox? i think it does....

anyways, when i crossed some wires from the HK amp when i wired in new speakers, the rear chanel went dead. i had to disconnect the amp with the connector on top and it reset.....maybey you just need to disconnect and reconnect the amp.

I rarely ask for help but...

you guys are letting me down here I can't believe there aren't more sound experts out there.

Help me brainstorm please...I checked in the Bently, useless.

I turn on the system today, got a brief broadcast from FM and then couldn't repeat. It's silent except for a steady, quiet "thud" every 5 seconds regardless whether it's in CD/FM/AM/XM. When I accessed the bass/treble/fade control, I noticed that the HK parameters are not there on the display Sup

pull the seat, pulle the bottom seat, pull the center rear cover around the latch, remove 3 screws, pop off 1/4 cover.

son of a..... it just deleted my entire post

stupid crap

1- remove back seat

2- remove weatherstripping around hatch

3- remove latch cover at the bottom of the hatch, its the long L shaped plastic piece

4- remove the 3 screws holding the 1/4 cover on.

5- pop off the 1/4 covere, there are clips all the way around

6- inspect amp, you dont even need to unscrew it, its all right there then.

I'm getting a new HK amp installed in my 2005 MCSC. After about 30 minutes with the volume LOUD, top down and hot weather, the sound will wildly fluctuate. It sounds like crap. Very muffled. I called my dealer and told them I think my amp has gone bad. They ordered me a new one, getting it installed 9/21/5 (along with a new top).

Radio just died!

Was leaving the dealership yesterday after a service and my radio and trunk mount changer would not play. The head display was still working and the controls still worked but no sound. As it turned out the H/K amp in the boot died. There had not been any problems with the radio or changer before yesterday.

According to the tech. the radios allways crap out after an air filter change!! Ha Ha.

They changed the amp (no charge) and commented that tha H/K amps die with no warning. Good luck with your problem, maybe it will be easy like mine.

It's not a fuse somewhere, you did blow the amp. Sorry about that!

Hope this helps...
