Help! Hard water spots on my BRG/B MCS!

I woke up this morning and a neighbors sprinkler nailed my BRG/B MCS. It must have been on before daylight. When I went out to my car, it was around 11:00 am and baking in the 95+ degree sunlight.

I have 5 coats of Zaino on the car before this happened, so I figured a good Zaino wash and spray of Z6 would take care of the spots.

No luck. Used a clay bar-spots still there. Got some white vinegar and a microfiber towel- spots are still there.

Help!

If it's hard water then repeated vinegar soakings (use a sponge and hold the vinegar in place longer) will help but may not eliminate the problem because it has also been made worse by being etched into the surface from the heat of the sun.

I used to have this problem frequently (black roof) until I started using Z8 spray sealer regularly. But it sounds like you had a worse case scenario and there is not much you could have done no matter what protection you had on the paint.

I think the only solution now may be to polish the spots away. I first would try a light paint cleanser. If that doesn't work, then step up to a swirl remover and that will work easily.

Thanks for the help

Ordered some Zaino ZPC paint cleanser. Used the clay bar again just to make sure. ZPC works really well- it seems to be a pretty light abrasive- took several applications and some elbow grease to get rid of several of the water spots.

But they are gone! What a relief.

I never realized what something as "innocent" as water can do to your paint.

Thank to NAM, BradB and Sal Zaino for the quick help.
