The 2007 will be the first year of the next-gen MINI, so beware of potential new model teething problems. It is also going to have a completely different engine designed and built by a BMW and Peugot Citreon venture, instead of the current generation's Tritec built engine (BMW and Chrysler). Peugot makes some cool stuff, but I don't believe reliability is one of their bigger selling points. We'll see in the next couple of years...

Turbo vs. supercharger is a rather personal debate. Turbos likely have more tuning potential, but supers have a more linear performance increase. To each their own. I love have a supercharger.

I am in on turbocharge. Lots of potential, might be a little rough characteristics, but overall more fun

The turbo and blower battle will never end, but I'm getting a 06 with all the options, cause i'm not liking all the corner cutting that Mini seems to be doing to the 07. Not anywhere near convinced it's a change for the better. I think it's going to be a very bad switch. Supercharger is better for us 0-60 lovers, instant power means instant fun!!

Take a look at the previous model year price increases MINI Canada has issued for new cars.

Here in the US the price increases from one model year to the next are around 5% more or less.

Thanks For the insight...
Now im not sure what to do??
Im buying an MCS in about 2 or 3 months...
With the New06's coming out in Sept, will the price of the 05's drop, and if so, by how much on average??
Also, what have the Critics said about the 06?? Is it just as good..or "BETTER" than the 05??
Any insight would be great!
Thanks

It is highly unlikely for '05 prices to drop at all. About the only way is if you buy a car off of the lot - and even then it is unlikely, because the theory there is simply that you pay MSRP for the luxury of instant gratification vs. waiting 6+ weeks for an order to arrive - even if it is a "year old."

Very little change is expected beyond a few colors replacements. As noted above:

I'm in the same channel, going for a 06, and wait 'till 08 or 09. There is an thread with this theme.... 2006 vs. 2007

Are all the accesories inluding the JCW going to be available after 07?

Thanks For the Quick Reply..
So i might as well just buy the New 06 Model, since its probably going to be around the Same Cost.
Would everyone agree with that?
