Haven't done the change yet. I'm at 3900 miles and planning on changing at somewhere around 4500. I bought a new filter at Desert MINI yesterday for $7.94 including tax. So I'm all set.

And many thanx to Zappa for the oil and PI.

 

I wasn't a winner, but I did buy some 0w30 from Ches/Zappa for my Cooper...

And she's running great!
I have been very pleased with the results. The engine seems to be running smoother and quieter since the change. Whenever someone asks me about oil now, I tell them Amsoil from Synthetic Warehouse is the best. Accept no substitutes!
My Mini Service Dept changed my oil with the Amsoil I provided and charged me like $31. An oil change where they provide the oil (MINI/mobil1) costs $83. You can do the math. MINI oil is $10/quart! Amsoil costs less and is much better quality.

 

I need to enter next time.

I just switched to Amsoil from Castrol Syntec on my 90 Integra and my wife's 98 Camry 4-banger. My 200K+ miles Acura now runs smoother and gets better fuel economy. I gained +1mpg on my first new half tank of gas. When I filled up completely I calculated a 10% mileage improvement (3 mpg). It seems too good to be true, so I will keep calculating mpg's.

I'm very happy with Amsoil!
