SSR Comp loose caps

Does anyone have a solution for loose caps on SSR Comps? Mine feel like they are about to fall off. I don't see any mechanisum to tighten them.

Are the centercaps a push on type- if so then it is a pressure fit.
Maybe putting on some thin tape in a crucial place would create a tighter fit and not be visible- sort of a soft shim.

maybe electrical tape on the cap edge at hits the wheel- if it is really loose then try a length 1/2 around or 3/4 around.

For street use my centerlines have bolt on centercaps, for autocross my Kosei K1 TS have no centercaps(pressure fit).

Alex..... I bought these wheels from you, any suggestions? I know this has been a problem with the SSR Comp wheel. How is it being resolved?

FYI, I lost a cap of the SSR Comps that I had on my S2000 while doing a track day. Just came in after a session and noticed it was missing. Up until that point I had no idea the caps might be loose. Needless to say I removed the rest for the remainder of the track day. As others have said, probably a little electrical tape, or maybe a bead of silicone sealant. I sold my car and wheels shortly thereafter so I never dealt with the problem.

I'm surprised tech didn't make you remove them to start with... they should have.

Yeah, if I had been thinking I would have pulled them off beforehand regardless. But oversights happen.

ALLWAYS pull caps to autocross or lap - they are plastic, and brakes get HOT.

The caps on SSR Comps are actually machined aluminum parts, just FYI.

Aluminum caps : not mine.....

You are lucky: I have had 2 set's of 17" SSR comps. & neither has aluminum caps. Mine current Comps. came w/ silver plastic caps & have the aesthetic appeal of a 2oz. shot glass (Fugly if I don't say so.) They come off by pushing them in place from the inside when the wheel is off. Sounds like we have some cap variety here (maybe size related?) I want alum. caps!

These were the 17" SSR Comps that were on my S2000. They were purchased around July of 2004. Don't know if the caps were different specifically for that fitment or what. But they were very nice machined pieces, looked great on the wheels. And really, until I lost one at the track, i'd never had an issue of them being loose.

not every application, and they both will warp.

they are applcation specific, due to required stub axel clearance.
