Lint trapped in moonroof seal

The fuzzy seal around the moonroof seems to capture lint. The roof is black and the lint is annoying. The primary source seems to be my California Duster. It's new, so maybe it will release fewer fibers after a while. The "lint-free" towels I've been using also seem to contribute, but to a lesser degree.

So my questions are two:

1. What are your ideas for removing the lint from the seal? I've used packing tape to pick it up, but it's very tedious.

2. What are your ideas for avoiding this in the first place? So far all I can think of is to mask it with painter's tape.

I use an old toothbrush minus the paste ......great for wax removal in hidden areas also.

Maybe even a "GONZO" sponge. it worked great when I had a velvet couch and 4 cats. I've never had a sunroof but I'd imagine it would work quite nicely. It's not small like the previously mentioned tooth brush but it a sponge so it will curve and I wouldn't think it would hurt anything in the surrounding area.
http://www.gonzocorp.com/faq.htm Down below is one of their products that would probably work.

The Gonzo® Window & Door Screen Cleaner® - The frustrating chore of cleaning window and door screens is made easier using the Gonzo Window & Door Screen Cleaner. The revolutionary material used in our sponges picks up all the dust, dirt and pollen without using water. When the sponge becomes filthy just bang it out like an eraser and reuse.

after i wash the car (its easier when its wet), i run my fingers on the felt and it rubs out, balling it up you see how much lint got collected. using painters tape works too.

I use tape if it is dry, or the toothbrush if I can while still wet.

Seems like I heard that running a slightly damp microfiber over it would help.

Seems like this is just something I'll have to add to my detailing ritual. I'll try several techniquest tonight and let you all know what seems quickest/easiest.

I noticed this fuzz thing on the moonroof the first time I detailed the MINI! So, I use the "fuzz brush" that my wife uses to get lint, etc., off her clothes. One side of the brush is a, umm, brush, the other side has a soft fabric material that attracts and retains lint when you brush it in one direction.

Works like a charm on the moonroof lint.

Hint: if you do this, get your wife another lint brush beforehand!!!
