SIRIUS JVC installed with Panavise mount: pics

As promised before, here is a pic of my JVS Sirius tuner installed using the panavise mount. The mount angles the receiver toward the driver and my knuckles do not hit it when shifting into 5th gear. . .

The styling of this unit matches the MINI interior very well and I was able to hide all of the wires so that it looks very professional but could be removed and switched to another car easily enough.

Nice Match

That looks great. The orange/red display goes perfectly with the MINI lighting. How does the JVC perform? Are the controls intuitive?

The controls are very intuitive. 18 presets are easily chosen, and the round pointer button makes it easy to select stations from various genre lists: news, sports, country, rock, etc.

I couldn't be happier with it and I'm glad I searched out the best possible mount to make it look so good.

I have the uber-bulky Audiovox PNP2 system. I've been waiting for smaller units such as the JVC and Xact to come out to get as replacement and mount similar to how yours is set up. I hope to get either one soon. The Audiovox will find duty in the truck.

Lookin' good!

Thanks Greatbear!

I'm awfully proud of my clean installation since I am usually worried about removing panels and such. It sure was fun doing this on my own and I think I did as good of a job as anyone could have.

I still have the issue of wanting to install some additional power outlets, but I have a splitter that works for now and is not too bothersome. . .

Did you use the antenna that came with the kit, or did you go with the factory all in one antenna?

i used the antenna that came with the kit. Very easy to place just behind the stock antenna and run into the car through the boot and headliner!

That's too bad. I'm waiting for my car and as soon as it's in, the headliner is getting dropped to see if it's possible. From what I can gather, there are four lines, one for am/fm one for nav, and 2 for Sirius. Terk sells a recombiner for single input units, I was just hoping that someone already did this so I have something to follow. Thanks for the answer...

Fantastic, you are exactly the person with whom I need to be speaking.
I got the aforementioned big-*** Audiovox unit a while ago, but have not mounted it yet.
1) How do you remove the headliner?
2) Which Panavise mount did you get?
2a) How does it install?

I'm interested in how to feed the antenna wire from the back to the front. The Bently manual is telling me that the only way to get the C pillar off is to break it and replace it with a new one! I'm assuming that I can't run things over the windows and down the A pillar (under the headliner) bedause of the side curtain airbags, right? Or is that no big deal?

Thanks!
