Firmware update?

I have a 2012 R57, is there a way to update the OEM headunit's Firmware and navigation? Pic for attention.
Thanks!

Getting a lot of looks but no comments, I'm assuming updating the factory headunit's firmware isnt a thing?

Interesting, is it due to not having access to the files or nav data?

I've just never seen or heard of it being done. I think the hardware is the limitation.

There are aftermarket units that will swap in to give you the updated Android Auto / CarPlay experience.

+1 for the cars with factory NAV or Full display you will need the gray box style.

On the firmware update, that's a MINI dealer thing and they can check it for you.
