everyone seems so scared of getting their hands a little dirty on the computer side of things.

Has anyone dumped the ROM off a Siemens VDO & thrown it in IDA? I dont see why a complete disassembly of the “virgin code” isn’t possible, and being able to see what makes our cars “tick” can certainly open up the tuning scene.

I might go buy a used (locked) VDO and dump it, but if someone has a virgin binary please feel free to PM me.

I understand that certainly, RE is not everyone’s cup of tea. I think the lack-of-interest from talented individuals on this (and similar) forums is why there is only 1 good option (Bytetronik) for tuning OE ECUs.
