Feb 2005 R53 / cooling fan… Fuses / Relays?

I searched all over.

radiator fan has left the chat. I can’t figure out where the fuse is - and what else might be on it. This is a post LCI car, so I think the PS fan is a separate circuit? If anyone knows where the fuses / relays are, please let me know. ( 173k )

All the fuses and relays for the rad fan are in the fuse block that is adjacent to the air filter box in the engine compartment. When you remove the cover there's a label on the underside identifying everything.
The only bit of confusion is fuse F5 (5 amp) which is labeled as engine but it powers the relay coil for low speed on the fan circuit.
The PS fan relay is tied to the rad fan high amp circuit and is kicked on when the fan is energized.

Thank you. That helps. I did not understand that the 5 amp fuse was for the relay coil.

+1
When my 1st stage fan stopped working I also checked the fuses and the large green relays (?) and was a little confused as to which fuse was actually associated with the low speed fan.
I ended up performing the100W 0.33 OHM resistor bypass mod instead. I also had no idea that the 5 amp fuse had anything to do with the low speed as it was labeled "engine".

Thanks to all the feedback. I’ve got a bit more troubleshooting to do - I am in NY, and car in Cali. Is there more info on the bypass hack.

HereYaGo - Bypass Low speed fan resistor fix discussion thread - post #867 shows an image of the wiring mod. but you may want to skim through the previous comments to have a better idea of how this mod came about
Here's a link to the Mouser HS100 R33 J / 100W 0.33 OHM 5% resistor (I myself) and others have often used.

Did the Mouser mod on my '04 JCW about 8 years ago and have had no issues ever since!
