My issue seems to be the opposite of most roof threads on here, My roof opens with no issue however when closing the sunroof section attempts to close but the slider only move about an inch and then stops leaving the sunroof open.
I’ve dismantled the roof and removed the motor. With it removed it runs ok in both directions so I don’t think it’s a motor issue. I can manually slide the passenger (LH) slider forward and back with no issues. The drivers (RH) move about an inch and them stops. No amount of pulling/pushing/gently whacking with a hammer will move it forward any further.
I’m at a loss on what’s stoping it from sliding forward and how I can remove it to check the cable. Anyone have any good suggestions?
Thanks for posting up here. The hall sensors know when the top is closed and then the sunroof section rolls forward and stops. You might need an adjustment on the final close sequence. Can you show how much it closes with the fabric connected and everything?
Thanks for getting back to me. I’ve attached a video of it when I press the open and then close button. You can see the slider goes fully back on open but when I press close it only moves forward a little bit. It was the same before disassembly.
When I remove the motor and try to manually move the slider forward it doesn’t budge past where the motor takes it.
On the other side, with the motor removed I can manually move the slider right to the front of the track.
I’m stumped as to why I can’t manually move that slider forward. I can’t see anything that would be holding it in place, I’ve smothered in wd40 and then white lithium grease.
