That looks to be a metal line. No need to replace it unless it's rusted out and leaking, especially for that money. Just flush it out good, clean it up and paint it if you're **** (I would be).
Their is an aftermarket now. Mine was really rusty and it broke on the end when i was doing front end work on my car replacing that short rubber hose that leaked near the water pump.

Heater hose to water pump connection. Hose to hose and yes mine was super rusty. Down near the waterpump is were they rust, water and gunk comes through the radiator/ up from the road and hits down near the front of the block/near that water pump. Those short hoses off the water pump crack link crazy.

You can see that hose / pipe on the front of this engine. I did mine with the radiator and front end off. but i bet you can do it from the bottom up and snaking it around.
Thanks much for the pics. My motor/trans is coming out this summer so ill add this to the inspection list. Btw ECS, out of two computers and a laptop (all mac) when i go to your website i get a code 404 forbidden message. Tried without vpn too, any ideas?

i had to take the bolts out of the intake manifold and the thermostat housing. Then I was able to work the metal line out towards the drivers side. Reverse to get the new one in.
