R50/53 Vorshlag Camber Plates with Stock Springs and Koni FSD Shocks?
Vorshlag Camber Plates with Stock Springs and Koni FSD Shocks?
I've had weird camber issues with my car and pretty much decided to put some vorshlag plates on it to fix the camber and give me the ability to adjust it for the occasional track day without changing out the strut mounts. Right now I have stock mounts and IE fixed camber plates and will swap them out for daily driving or fun driving. I stumbled upon this thread ( https://www.motoringalliance.com/thr...umpstops.1765/ ) where a guy tried to put stock springs with koni yellow shocks and vorshlag camber plates but he had trouble with the ride height(?) I haven't been able to find too many people that have put vorshlag plates on stock springs so I thought I'd ask if anyone here has. I know I won't be able to get much more than -2 degrees of camber with the stock springs which isn't a problem for me, my main goal is to be able to have the camber even on both sides and to be able to adjust it. Does anyone know if there are other clearance issues with vorshlag plates with stock springs?
It looks like he never checked ride height - just the length of the assembly, and those two things are not necessarily directly related. Difference in the lower perch height appears to be minimal.
I did think that was weird as ride height should primarily be determined by the springs and the stack height of the perch and mounts which shouldn't be that much. I think I'm probably going to give it a shot and see how it goes.
I'm using the Ireland Engineering plates on my slightly lowered, 06.
The camber is set to about -1.5 degrees, with no problems at all. I did a few runs up the local canyons to come up with the -1.5 degrees, by checking the tire scrub pattern in the tread.
Remember, you MUST complete the camber adjustment WITH you in the drivers seat. Otherwise, you won't get both side where you want them while you are...driving the car.
