Let's talk camber plates with OEM sized springs.
I'll make a long story short. I'm on my second MINI. First MINI had PSS9 coilovers. I hated how they rode on the streets but the handling was good. My second MINI has H&R springs with Koni adjustable shocks. It rides WORLDS better on the street at the same height of the first MINI and they handle near the same. There is only one problem that I'm running into now, and it's a large problem...lack of camber.
The lack of camber adjustment is no good. I want to be able to get -3 degrees with ease when I want it and then get close to stock when I want it. From what I understand, you cannot get much past -1.25 (ish) degrees when running a spring that is OEM sized. I have also read you can bang out your wheel well for more clearance.
Can we discuss this a bit? Are there people that have been able to get a decent amount of camber with OEM sized springs? Any suggestions?
I am considering just getting coilovers for the camber adjustability yet I don't care for the daily drive as roads around my area aren't the best.

I am running Koni shocks/Dinan linear springs and IE adjustable street camber plates. I currently have the camber at -2 degrees in the front. I think I can get a little bit more, but not much unless I cut the body where the camber plates mount so I could tighten the plate adjustment screws. Also the stock size springs will hit the inner strut tower if I go too much further.
Ride is great and no adverse tire wear.

Unless you are running a real severe track set-up, -3° camber really isn't going to help with performance. I am running a tad over -2° with TSW springs and the IE street adj. plates and get very even wear on my tires.
The car will be setup for the track when approx. -3 degrees is needed...
I am using OEM size JCW springs with stock JCW shocks and Hotchkis Adjustable Camber Plates. I run -2.2 camber but can go more. I did pound in the drivers side drain tube (bump) in the wheel well up high near the top of the strut.
