R53 Rear Hatch dripping water after wash

Does anyone have any info as to why this happens? It literally has been dripping out behind the trim. I am trying to keep my car clean, but requires cleaning after the original clean LOL.

The back hatch area in general is hard to keep clean, so if anyone has tips on that, or if there is a diffuser which can maybe minimize the vortexes that bring dust/grime on the back!

Thanks again!

It could be the gasket for the antenna. Some people have had problems there. Does it leak in the rain or just after added pressure from the wash?

A couple of common leak causes are the third brake light or hatch handle seals. The holes for the belt line trim clips can also let in some water. Check your battery box to make sure it isn’t full of water.

By rights you will get a more dusty rear door after adding a diffuser that works to any extra degree over the standard airflow.

I traced the cause of 3" of water in my battery box to a water leak from the trim piece that houses the license plate lamps and release switch for the boot.
