Brought the '22 S 4 door to the dealer today for an oil change.
Was told that the brains had to be reprogrammed because of a recall.
Needless to say, lost all radio as well as Bimmercode custom settings.
Now, I have to figure out what I did.

Full side question. My car was reprogrammed in mid-November and it (unexpectedly) fixed the oft-discussed issue where incoming text messages on an iPhone that is Bluetooth-connected to MINI show up with phone number only. All of a sudden I had contact names on the text messages. Surprise yay.
Since, like you, I had BimmerCode customizations, I put those back -- one at a time, by hand (not from restoring a backup).
The names went away. So I restored the BimmerCode backup taken before re-inputting my customizations. The names stayed gone despite having reverted out the customizations.
The folks behind BimmerCode have been no help so far on this. All they have done is point out that this (names not being associated with text messages) is a common problem in BMW-space. No answer whatsoever on the fact that it was **working** in my case, post-BMW-reprogram at the shop, until I started entering BimmerCode changes (that have now been fully backed out but didn't back out the breakage).
Are you set up to have your text messages appear in iDrive, and if so, are you doing it with an iPhone, and if so, does it work right now with your '22 that has new software?
SEPARATELY and importantly: can you tell us anything about the reason for / nature of the recall?
Android here. Haven't looked though. Will do later.
My 'tech advisor', lol, said something about Telematics. What is Telematics anyway? Is that where they spy on you through the cell network?
The work order also mentioned something about 3G sunset.
And bear in mind, I didn't state to do any of these things except an oil change, lol.
I knew this forum was good for something. I found what I did in previous thread.
There are a couple of nag warnings I think I got rid of too.
Now, to do little browsing for any other Bimmercode tidbits and maybe update the app and myself on its use.

I got my 2022 F56 4 door a couple days ago. It replaced a similar 2017. On my 2017 I remember downloading something or other to my laptop and hooking up a cable and sweating bullets that nothing would go wrong. Today I downloaded Bimmercode for 45 bucks, hooked up my bluetooth OBDC and it was off to the races. Only did basic stuff, but very easy. Some of the OEM stuff was quite annoying. Everything worked except tire temperature, which I guess the sensors don't do. It hasn't been that long, so I guess a setting could revert-we'll see.
I did:
-Auto start stop disable for eco mode, what is ecopro and ecopro+; I chose ecopro
-Auto start stop remember last setting
-Driving Mode-remember last mode
-Startup warning-disabled
-Convenient closing-close windows with remote
-Disable window closing when a door is opened[
-Display full text messages
@VelvetFoot interesting about the Telematics Control Unit. Yeah the 3G sunset is a real thing, ran into that with not-car tech I deal with. Anyway here's a writeup on BMW Telematics -- there's all kinds of comm-related stuff going on there, from cellular integration to NFC digital key tech. Interesting.
I chose several of your changes for my own MINI. Have to think about/dig up the paper that has on it all the stuff I tweaked (gonna have to put all that back after the shop visit to undo the software update's suspected whomp of my power steering assist later this week anyway). I did do the tire temp thing, definitely a fan of it, didn't know there were TPMS sensors out that (like yours?) that won't report temp.
UPDATE 12/11/2022 -- looks like the software update did not whomp my power steering assist, but may have contributed insofar as being more sensitive to power issues in the car. Root cause looks like alternator going south. Pre-software-update, car obviously didn't care. Post-software-update, the car cared a LOT. But an alternator going south is an alternator going south, so that's that. Alternator is the real problem.

Reason: Update re power steering / software
Tire temp still not working, and this is with some OEM TPMS wheels I got for winter, as well as the OEM wheels that came with the car, apparently called Revolites. I had a MINI in the past that did this, so my theory is that BMW didn't enable that choice for MINI.
I saw a hint that email might be received, like texts. I had another generation MINI, I think the last one, that did email with the Samsung phone I had. I upgraded to a later model Samsung and email stopped working. I wouldn't mind if I could get it working again.
Verified that without the alarm system, audible warnings for things like locking and pedestrian alerts won't work; who needs 'em anyway...they're annoying.
I coded the welcome lights on when backing up...I figure the more light the better.
I made the time delay to initiate remote control initiation of opening and closing windows as well as the tailgate as small as possible...who needs to wait for that.
Also lessened the rear camera on mph and time as much as I could.
While I know a vin decoder like https://bimmer.work/ can give you options, Bimmercode also gives you that info and maybe a little more.. It's nice to know what you've got, like for instance, there's a reason why the headlight washer coding didn't work-there aren't any, lol.
There's a whole bunch of other exterior lighting that I left alone-a lot of requires either halogen or xenon headlights and mine are LED, plus, requires some study and aesthetic sensibilities, lol.
Anyway, good luck.
PS: Just noticed that you have a 2017. I traded in my '17 Volcanic Orange Justa for the '22 Midnight Black S. I put 150k miles on the '17. Great car. Not crazy about the run flat situation vis a vis car jack, spare, ride, cost, etc.
I reinstated the delay to open and close windows and sunroof.
without the delay, I came out many mornings with all windows and sunroof open.
Keys in pocket, go to sit and button gets pushed.

Interesting. My '17 definitely provides temperature if you flip it on in BimmerCode (it's one of the options I turned up).
I don't know the manufacturer on my TPMS sensors in the wheels -- but I use a place that specializes in wheels/tires/suspension. I got my '17 used, and now that I think about it -- I used a VIN decoder -- even though it had genuine MINI wheels on it when I bought it used, they were NOT the wheels the VIN decoder specifies. Don't know if that might explain your sitch, but even before I started replacing tires and/or TPMS sensors, it was def working on my '17 (if one enabled it).

BMW forums (have to Google your issue) have some chatter about certain things involving text and email working on Samsung up until some particular Android OS update, at which point boom. IIRC the dates on those posts were at least a couple of years ago -- not 2022 vintage stuff. If I locate a reference I'll get you some links.

Yeah been there done that lol. I wanted a beep for when I lock/unlock and no dice. I have to make sure I watch for the light flash and then since it won't re-light-flash if you do it a 2nd time and then space-cadet your brain to "did I lock the car" well yeah you get the idea yino

I thought about that but decided not to. I changed my reverse lights out for a decent set of LEDs so I figured that was enough. But I did find out unexpectedly that if you activate the front fogs as cornering lights (requires doing stuff in Expert Mode), they will light up when you put the car in reverse.

Yeah I looked at those delays and decided after some pondering to leave them alone. I figured zero-values would get me into what TVPostSound describes.

I have no rear camera but this sounds interesting.

I went through that exercise. This thread has gotten really long but within I documented what I ultimately activated, along with how-tos and a ton of associated info. One thing, I have since found that at least one of those changes causes the system to complain about a short circuit (info/error codes, only visible via BimmerLink or similar BMW-aware code-reading product). I don't know whether the short it complains about is real. But right now my car has been reverted to bone stock, so when I get done troubleshooting the bigger issues on the car, I'll re-introduce my lighting changes to see whether the short circuit complaint comes back, and if so, figure out what triggers it and whether it can be worked around.

OMG the run flat thing -- I have replaced *more* than all 4 original (when bought used) tires due to potholes -- SHALLOW potholes. At suggestion of my tire/wheel/suspension shop am upgrading -- so far have done the rears but not the fronts -- from factory size of 205/45/R17 to 205/50/R17. So looking forward to when I have burned through the tread on the fronts and/or they have been "potholed out," I'm almost past the point where I care which happens first I just want them off the car on principle now. Non-runflats are WAY more sensible where I am... excepting that whole problem with having no spare. With luck the plus-sized tires are plus-sized just enough.
Well, now that I have pretty firmly determined that BimmerCode changes (or at least certain changes) aren't responsible for my electrical weirdnesses, I've gone back and put some things back in place.
I haven't done anything in Expert Mode, but I did go back and change the following in whatever "regular mode" is called.
Turned on convenient closing.
Turned off the automatic activation of auto start/stop in ECO mode.
Turned on LED conversion for the following (I had already changed these specific bulbs from halogen/filament to LED). I was sick of the flickering of various lights when the car is testing to see if the bulbs are out, and when it got really cold it was telling me various bulbs were dead until I turned them on (at which point it stopped kvetching until next cool-off). Turning on LED conversion takes care of all that by tweaking specific params (I know some, but won't claim to know all):
front turn signal
side turn signal
brake light
Brake Force Display
reversing light
rear turn signals
Turned off the auto-disable of the foglights when high beams are active.
Turned on fog lights being usable when only parking lights (without low beams active) are on.
Changed the head unit start animation from "MINI variant 1" to "M variant 1" (hey, it looks cooler, at least to me).
Turned on display of both tire temp and pressure display.
This definitely works on mine. Not sure why it has no effect on yours. Different head unit thing maybe? F55 vs F56 thing? Model year difference? No clue.
Turned on display of full text messages.
Since the folks at BimmerCode won't help me figure out why my using their product -- even with BimmerCode restore to pre-use config -- blew up the linking of my text messages to contact names, I figure I may as well just change this and I will hand-figure-out how to fix my contact-link problem another time. It's gonna get complicated. So for now I just want my entire freakin text messages
I've kept my volume popup because my stereo is base and therefore weak as heck and weak on midrange within that weakness, despite having great clarity -- so I always end up fiddling with the volume to figure out whether it's the car or the audio source that is at issue (it's pretty much always the car, this thing needs an audio upgrade).
Turned off the auto-disable of the foglights when high beams are active.
I did that for a while, but then figured out foglight are useless when using high beams.
I returned it toff with high beams.
It's more fun when you flash to pass, the fogs cycle opposite of the high beams, makes more of an impact!!!

Different use in my case and not so worthless. 2-lane roads with little or no artificial light, clear conditions. The fogs provide near-ground illumination especially to left and right (vs. just dead front) in a useful (to me anyway) way that the hi-beams do not.
During actual fog it's a whole different ball of wax. But in this particular scenario, it has made a material difference in a pinch (esp. when the road is not one I am familiar with).
"Driving lights" might be of use to me in the technical sense for this scenario, but the fogs are all I've actually got on the car at this time.
I don't know if anyone's out there, but a funny thing happened while getting the oil changed at the dealer...I traded it in for a same year 2 door. Go figure. Impulse buy.
Anyway, time to re-revisit the options. I had the 'old' car pretty much the way I wanted. Now I have to figure out what I did.
That's the problem with things you do, and then don't do again for years, lol
Edit: Broke out the BimmerCode app and the OBDC plug. It was easy.
This car not only has seat heat, it has steering wheel heat! I'm gonna love that.

3G Sunset refers to the 3G Cellular Data Modem in the car was possibly too old and no longer connects to the cellular towers because everything was updated to 5G. All the 3G had to get replaced.
