I’m brand new to interacting with the site and am definitely glad to be here. I’ve consulted the site for specific questions with my own newly acquired Mini but this is the first time I made it official and became a member.

I bought my first Mini in May, a 2005 Cooper S R53, with plans to build a strictly track car. I’ve wanted to race since I was a kid and finally decided to go for it. I paid $1,000 for it and over the course of the last 4 months am finding out why. I had to replace every o-ring, gasket, seal and even a clutch in the front end. It has 196,000 miles but loads of potential in my eyes. I’m still new to the BMW/Mini mindset as most of my mechanical experience is Ford, Dodge and Chevy but I hope to impart the knowledge I have as well as take in the loads offered by the vastly experienced chaps on this site.
