Air Bubble in Stripe

Hey guys, I just recieved my mini on saturday, I have no complaints about anything... Well maybe I do. There is a sizable (1.5 - 2.0 in) air bubble in the left bonnet stripe. My dealer says it will go away with time, but my uncle, a bmw mechanic, says it won't. Who do I believe and if it won't go away with time what do I do?

Doesn't really matter but is it a factory stripe or dealer installed?

Either way, it isn't right. Give it a week or so to see if it disappears. If not, make the dealer fix it. That's why you have a warranty.

Take a pin and put a small hole at one end. Then push, with a flat object, the strip down from the other side to get the air out. You might get a bit of distortion and see the hole for a while, but after bein out in the sun and heated up a few time, it will smooth out and look good. Good Luck!

I had a few of those in mine and they did go away after a few times in the hot sun. Not this time of year.

I've got no experience with these stripes, but I've read specifically that you SHOULD NOT do the pin-***** method suggested above (though it seems to make sense). I don't know why, etc... I just remember reading somewhere that you shouldn't do it.

I remove these bubbles the same way I do with clear pain protection film. Use a syringe. I take a thin gauge (thinner than a pin), and pierce, then withdraw the air/moisture from underneath. It will instantly go flat.
