Mystery switch near AUX port

Anyone know what this switch does? It’s under the head unit near the AUX port, which works with the switch on or off.

It’s not a factory switch…. Did the car have rally lights at some point, possibly?

Ejection seat activation.

Seriously I do not have this switch.
I agree with njaremka that it must be after market.

Might be heated seat or rally lights aftermarket.

Not an OEM button.

OEM rally lights have different button....

The switch also is identical with the Recaro sportster CS heated button thats ON THE SEAT.

However i also believe its was a button for Rally lights.
Hope you find out

The details of the previous owners are lost to the mists of time. I checked for any lights coming on and nothing happened.

There is only one aftermarket addition to this car I know off, and that is a MOBridge Bluetooth gizmo, which I am not using. I’ll check it tomorrow as well as for heated seats. It sure looks OEM though. Do all R56’s have the AUX port?

Those round toggle switches are pretty common so it could be for anything. They just look less aftermarket than others. It could have been added for the aftermarket Bluetooth module as I can see not wanting a phone to automatically pair when the radio is in a mode other than playing from it and essentially muting your phone. You’ll have to trace the wires if it’s not obvious what it’s controlling.

Not it sure if all 2nd gens had the aux port, but when it did I thought it also had a USB port.

The car is in the shop now getting a roof drip rail replaced so I asked the mechanic to see where that switch goes.
