Has anyone done away with the frame/mount for the AUX input and mounted it in the blank toggle spot? I tried searching the forums for this but didn't find any mention of it. Is there room behind the toggle panel for this?

great idea man! Im pretty sure there is room there. I was going to install another switch there... but I may consider your idea...
does anybody else know for certain is the question.

 

It was done to my car before I bought it, but was removed. A few folks locally have done it as well, but I can't find their posts. Look around on Metroplexmini.org
