WeatherTech floor liners

R58 question, but I need input from the R56 guys. I ordered a new set of floor liners for my R58 Coupe. They don't seem to reach all the way to the gas pedal. WaetherTech is telling me the floor of the Coupe is the same as the R56 Cooper, and if I want to return them, I'll have to pay for shipping.

So, two questions:
1) Anyone here have WeatherTech floor liners (for either car)? Do they fit properly?
2) Can someone measure the distance from the base of the gas pedal to the lip of the floor pan by the front seat? I want to compare, as I have a feeling the R58 is different than the R56 floor.

All factory front floor mats are the same for R56, R55, R57, R58, and R59. There is nothing different about your floor compared to an R56, except you don't have rear floor mats. It is shaped around the gas pedal like that due to the floor pivot.

I think this is my 4th set, and none of them have ever looked like that, even with a floor-mounted gas pedal. It's not going to keep much snow, slush, and salt off the carpet.

I'll have to dig out my OEM floor liners to see how they fit around the gas pedal... If that is how WeatherTech is making their floor liners, then it is what it is.

To answer your original question, again, there is no difference between the R58 and R56 floor pans.

OT but just in case someone interested in floor mats for the 2nd generation reads this:

I can recommend the OEM rubber floor mats. Their BMW part numbers are:
51472243906 (front, with MINI logo)
51472243908 (front, with Cooper-S logo)
51472231961 (rear)

This is what they look like (and I can confirm they do get that close to the pedals):

Thanks George - those are exactly what I have currently. However, living in Ontario, I need something to keep the winter crud off the carpets.

They are the same, on the r58 the passenger matt is shorter for the bump in the USA floormat foam.

Thats why the R58 have a different part then the R56 in weathertech.

I grabbed a picture of my OEM Mini floor liners for comparison. Maybe you should just forgo the WeatherTechs and get the OEM liners.

Do you have a part number for the MINI liner?

Damn - Back ordered, no ETA from ECS. I'll do a search here, but I'm not holding my breath. Thanks for the link.
