Floor Mat Options (Coupe`)

I have a 2012 Coupe` S and don't really like the carpet floor mats. My Jetta had nice thick rubbery all-weather mats so I want something similar for the MINI.

I went to weathertech.com and they have 2 options that look pretty good, the first is the standard "All Weather" style thick rubbery mats that I am used to (see images below) the second type is like a whole floor liner. The floor liner looks very interesting but I think is a much thinner material.

Is anyone using either of these? What are folks using for floormats? Are there other options I'm over looking?

Option 1: Thick rubbery "All Weather" for $54.95 for the Coupe`

Option 2: "FloorLiner" with Digital fit for $99.95

Do you plan on driving in the winter at all? If so, the Floor Liner is great.

Personally, I have had "All Weather" in several cars and find that the wear like iron. They are extremely durable and protect the underlying carpet. I take out the factory mats and will only place them back in the car when I trade the car in or sell it. I think that Floor Liner mats a bit much. Just MHO.

The floor liner mats look like litter boxes to me. Just saying.

Yes there is a rubber OEM floor mat. I have them in my MINI up front and back and the boot. Great thing to have for winter, beach, and any other number of outdoor activities that you might track dirt into your car.

I have WeatherTech floor liners in our Mazda 5.

They are thinner, and need to be...they cover the entire footspace, and an inch or two up all sides. They're extremely good at keeping anything off your actual carpet; there's no space for anything to get off the edge, since basically they have none, as floor mats do.

I'll get a set for my MINI before winter to keep the salty glop off my carpet.

I've used and recommended WeatherTech floor mats also...they're very good, and with all the ridges and such they can trap most shoe debris. On our Mazda 5, though, there was quite a bit of floor space left open / unprotected, and passengers wouldn't always put their feet "in the right place". Likely less a problem on the MINI.
