I have had my 2006 R50 now for 15 years. Had the factory iPod set up in it. Upgraded to the factory Sirius satellite setup. Had to remove the iPod set up. Just recently I learned that you can have the CD changer AND the Sirius at the same time.

Here is the question, since the iPod mimics the Factory CD, can it be set up in the same way? If so how? Anybody done it?

yes you can have both the Sirius and a iPod set up with a factory HU. What you need is the CD extension cable. BMW part# 84 11 0 150 526. What you do is match the white tracer lines with the ones on the factory iPod harness. (White/red to White/red and so forth) the power is matched up as such: white/gray/yellow to white, Brown to Black, Red/green to Red then plug it into the expansion port on the XM box. Then your factory iPod will work like it should,
