Strange Aux-In Issue - NO SOUND

It's odd. The system sees it. I can select it, adjust the volume but, I can't hear it. I GUESS it's a faulty port? I ordered a new one but, here's the thing, I've never used it. Not once. It's pristine. I pulled the part out and checked the pins, also pristine. Cables all are connected and pretty. I don't know what else to do. Is there a second Aux-In somewhere? What do I do?

Sorry if you already know this, it's very basic. Make sure the volume on your device itself is not set a zero or muted.

CHECK. Good call. I also should mention that there's no indication of power to that port. You know when you plug in a 3.5mm plug, there's a little static sound that confirms that there's power? Yeah, none of that.

What about the cable you are using to connect device to the AUX port? Can you confirm it's actually working?
