I've been running the Eventuri Intake over a year now. I love it. I just installed the Forge Intake Pipe and thought I'd share some photos. I covered the Pipe with gold heat reflective foil. Not the cheap stuff but the real deal. Same product used in F1 and WRC, etc. Looks cool too!

How difficult was the installation? From the Forge instruction sheet it doesn't look like a bear to swap. Did you find it to be fairly easy?

 

Not hard. I removed everything to make it super easy to get at the pipe. I took the opportunity to replace the faded windscreen cowl. I also removed the upper heat shielding and cleaned the entire area under the cowling. Everything looks new again. You'll need a puller to get the wiper arms off if you are going the route I did with removing everything to get at the pipe.

There's a YouTube video that has a guy who separates the factory pipe at one of the clamps which makes the factory pipe come out in two parts. If you do it that way, you can replace the pipe without removing everything like I did.

That looks amazing. Did you, by any chance, data log the before and after intake temperatures?

 

I did not.

The Forge pipe claims to give better airflow than the factory plastic pipe. Which I'm inclined to believe. But, I do think the metal pipe acts as more of a heat sink than the plastic pipe, so any added reflection of heat has to be a good thing. Tests of this particular heat reflective gold foil shows up to 70° F/ 20°C drop in air temperatures than without it. For whatever that is worth.

Admittedly, I did it more for the cool looks. But if cooler air results from it, I'm happy with that too. It does seem that the Forge pipe helps the Eventuri system work better. No real numbers, just butt dyno guesstimations.

Nice job on the install and wrap! Looks good with the intake.

You're not likely to see intake temp improvements with a mod like this, its more about the flow improvements. Lower intake temps will only come from an upgraded intercooler.

 

One more question on your install. I have an Eventuri also and I see where some people have said they needed to shorten the silicone coupling hose that connects to the airflow sensor tube. Did you need to adjust any of the parts to fit?

Actually I found the Forge silicone hose to be perfect. No cutting. It took quite a bit of adjusting, but it ended up putting a perfect amount of pressure against the front Intake of the Eventuri system. Now it's a nice and tight, sealed connection between the parts. It did take A LOT of tweaking to get it just right.

I found the factory plastic pipe didn't press the Eventuri air filter connection onto the front intake section of the Eventuri system very well. I was getting some flex that was sucking air past the seal. I made a jig with markers to confirm this was happening while driving. If the jig marked past a certain point, a gap was occurring between the front Intake part of the Eventuri system and the air filter housing section. Allowing air from the engine compartment to be sucked in. The Forge pipe with the silicone connector fixes this problem. It puts positive pressure forward, keeping the parts in place. The factory pipe's accordion section is just too flexible.

This was the main reason I added the Forge pipe. I knew I could get a more positive connection between all the parts. It just takes some time adjusting all the different sections, but it's worth it.
