Forge High Flow Intake Hardpipe

With hadjiikong's help, we were able to install my new Forge high-flow intake hard pipe. Famous last words, "this install should be easy" ..........

The whole purpose of the new intake pipe is to eliminate yet another resonator Mini put in the F56. As you can see in the picture and my write up, that bulge was a source of a lot of aggravation and restriction.

Sounds easier then removing and installing a downpipe. Cause you have to remove this to get to the downpipe.
Notice any difference?

The trim we removed has to be removed for the DP so if you are going to do that then change this piece.

If not, going the way we went is the 2nd best option. IT took us about an hour total for the install so it is a pretty easy install. Definitely a 2 person job

Im taking it out for a drive today! It was snowing yesterday and I still have my summers on so I wanted to wait until the streets dried up

Hey Vinnie. Any reason you didn't go with the complete hard pipe kit? I wish I had known about these when I had my DP replaced.

Be careful with those summer tires. The farther the temps drop below 40º, the less traction you'll have. There's a reason they're called summer tires.

I know right! It was butt-puckering driving around the block!

So, according to Forge's website, that complete kit isnt in the S F56, just the JCW F56. We were questioning it while we were installing the hardpipe because we couldn't believe there is a difference. I have an email to Forge asking if it is just a mistake on their part. If it fits, Im going to do it for sure

Miltek for the downpipe, hands down, no questions asked! Incredible fit. I have it along with a bunch of other members: https://myredmini.com/milltek-catless-downpipe/

How raspy is the downpipe with the stock exhaust, and how bad will it be with a remus, if you might know? I know a lot of 4cyl can get rasp with no resonators or cats

I have both, the Miltek and Remus. The only loud rasp is around 4.5-5k with the valve all the way open. Other than that, it is perfect. I have sounds clips on my site too

Nice pics. We put one on all 3 of the last F56 builds we did and they work great. I think it's a better investment than an intake as this removes the res chamber in the intake tube.

How's it compare to Mario Kart's catless DP? Milltek has a great reputation but people here rave about MK's work.

Looking forward to hearing your feedback about the charge pipe! I’ve always wanted an intake for increased turbo noise but never pulled the trigger since they don’t provide any other benefit. This could be the best of both worlds.

Not really sure, I only heard good things about Milltek so that is why I went with it. There are a bunch of people that have his though on here.

I use and recommend the Milltek for the downpipe as they always fit right and have a lifetime warranty.

Honestly, I haventdriven it much. Im in Minnesota and we are in the middle of winter and I have my summer tires on. The few times I did, I did notice the turbo spooling up faster and you can defiunetly hear it more so stuff is opened up in there for sure

In this video they show a gain of +6 hp. If you zoom in on the graph it definitely shows an increase in low end torque. These appears be to be a tuned engine so the gains are probably optimized.

We had like 12" of snow down here and another 3-4 the other day. Nothing like winter in Ohio. But you should have more

After tinkering in the engine bay, the fact that the forge pipe looked shorter in your pictures popped in my mind..... How much does it effect placements of filters (Such as the BMS), that uses the stock filter housing? Is it really as drastic of a reduction in length as it looks? Would suck having to buy another intake... ( I mean I'd enjoy it, but the wallet and missus? ....Not so much.)
