'09 Clubman cruise control light

Two days ago about 1/2 miles down the road the engine just quit, I coasted to a stop, took the key thing out and put it back, started the car and it worked normal all the rest of the trip (went to the dentist but that's another story) I forget the exact order of when, but at some point the warning light for the cruise control came on during the dead engine issue.
Yesterday my wife did some shopping, but first went to the dump. When leaving the dump, once again the engine died, when she restarted it, it was surging from idle to around 1500 or 2000, and the gas pedal had no effect. After "three" restarts it was normal again, so she went on to Conway and did her shopping - made it home and here we are, about to go out and put the scanner on it. I hope someone can give me some input as to what's going on. She got the "half engine" picture in orange on the dash~

Kind of interesting, I don't see anything about the issues I'm having in the code reader, maybe I'm not using it right, although it seems I'm following directions - sure wish someone would help, is this problem posted in the right place???

So, I got in to it a little deeper, I'm seeing codes P0120, P0122, P0222. From what I read these are an ongoing nightmare for Mini owners. Are there any mechanics on this forum? Looking for help!!

This is a major disappointment that no one has offered help. From reading other posts I found the idea of cleaning the air flow plate at the entrance to the intake manifold, but this did no good. Today the car gave a warning light pulling away from a stop sign - same thing, shut it off turn it on & all ok. However it needs to be fixed & I don't like the idea of throwing parts at it till it's fixed. If no one can help with this, could someone tell me of a forum that will help?

Happy new year, just saw this. Those are all throttle body codes related to the two sensors. Have you tried plugging and unplugging them? I had a loose connection on sensor b (0222) and it threw that up and put it in limp mode from time to time, erasing code and restarting would fix but major nuisance.

You don’t have a sprint commander or anything do you? Could have loosened there as well.

Also this is the r55 forum, love clubbys but that’s a pretty general 2gen issue, post in the main 2gen forums and you might get more r56 guys and gals who’ve experienced it help 👍

I did change the throttle body, and, as of today it seems to be fixed. I just got the part in the mail yesterday, so just yesterdays test ride, and this morning we had to go over one town about 20 miles each way & all is working good!!!
