small speaker

I have a question? Has anyone got an answer for what that little speaker is for, in the passenger foot well, right under the glove box, in the panel you have to remove to get access to the cabin filters.

It's for the SOS or MINI Assist or whatever it's called. The emergency call service if, for example, your car crashes or you push the SOS button. What you've found is the dedicated speaker for it. Common in BMW's for years now. (Prior to SOS and Assist features, it was used for the gong, which nows comes out of the regular speakers.)
