Another Speaker Question

Hey guys,

I noticed that my front passenger side lower HK speaker has no sound at all. When I turn the balance and fader all the way to the front right, I only hear the tweeter. When I move the balance to the front left, I hear both the tweeter and the mid range. I’m not sure if the speaker’s blown or if the amplifier is out. I figure if it was blown, I would still hear audio coming from it? I did an extensive search and found a lot of members with the same issue, but no one reported if replacing the speakers did the trick.

I removed the door panel to check the connection, but everything checked ok. One option is removing the driver's side door panel and swaping the speakers to rule out the amp. Any ideas? Thanks in advance,

Update: The speaker is blown. It appears that they go dead without warning...at least is not the amplifier.

Juan

yep...If anyone ever says they blew a speaker on the HK system you can safely bet thats the one they are talking about.

See if the "Driver" setting is on. My guess is that it over drives the woofer when it changes the sound stage.
