R57 rear speakers

Does anyone know the size for the rear speakers on the 09 convertible?

And if anyone has changed them, how difficult was it?

Thanks

+++1. ^^^I would like to find out about the same thing. I heard they are 6.5 and not the 6x9 like the R56.

They are definitely not 6x9, they just will not fit.

They are supposed to be 6.5, but what the exact opening diameter is i am not sure.

The inside diameter of the speaker cone is about 5-1/2". The outside diameter is about 6-1/2".

You have to remove the rear seats (not hard - need a T40 Torx to remove the 3 seat center mount bolts). To remove the side panels there are a couple of screws and three of the dreaded plastic clips on each panel. You have to lift the panel straight up once you pop the three clips on the front edge of the panel. The top of the side panel is pinched in 3 pinch clips. It is a bit tricky but not too hard.

Once the side panels are off the speakers remove easily. The speakers have a weird thick built-in spacers. I found that the rattle is not in the speaker. It must the be side panels rattling as the speaker just presses against the panels with some soft seal material.

I am going to look at getting 2010 R-57 Harmon Kardon speakers.

Good luck!
