Hello, my 05 S died today while driving.
riding along and outta no where the RPMs went to zero and the engine died.
...headlights and cluster lights all stayed on,
Engine died and I rolled to a stop.
...when I tried restarting the engine would give a "burp" as if it wanted to start, but wouldnt.

if the gas cap is bad, will i hear a vacuum when i unscrewed the cap? ...once the car stopped I immediately jumped out and opened the gas tank. There was no loud rush of air like yu would expect with a vacuum....

Car has never given me any issues.
...gas gauge showes 1/4 tank =81 miles to go..

Just off the cuff, with all the lights coming on after the engine died I’d check to be sure the engine hasn’t jumped timing or broke the (IIRC) timing chain.

I had that happen on a car I owned, although it was a Chrysler. No idea why, but all the lights coming on was the only symptom other than the engine dying.

Besides that, does the engine have spark when you crank it? I check with it a spare plug on one of the wires, and use a jumper cable for grounding the spark plug.
