3rd Party Extended Warranties High Mileage Driver
My 2017 Cooper has 95,000 miles on it, and I have an Mini XXXL extended warranty which takes me through 100,000 miles. I drive about 25,000 miles/yr, except during pandemics (!)
Last month, a warning light came on and I had to have the turbo system replaced. Everything was covered by the Mini warranty, but I was told the out-of-pocket cost would have been around $4,000. So of course I am thankful I had the warranty and that this didn't happen couple of months later.
But now I am wondering, is it a reasonable idea for me to buy an 3rd party high mileage warranty, even if they are not ideal. According to KBB, my car is only worth $9-$10K now, so another $4K repair might be the end for this vehicle. I don't have a quote on cost yet, which of course is key. But I was wondering about everyone's general opinion.
I have Googled and read good things about Endurance, but I am wary of fake reviews.
Thoughts?
