R56S Full Rebuild - N14 Oil Filter Mount Flow Directions?
Hi All,
My first official NAM post. So I'm in the middle of my epic total-rebuild of my 2008 Mini S (engine/trans/front & rear suspension), and I've decided that I'm annoyed with the stock oil filter design and I'm going to redesign the oil filter mount for a remote oil filter (FRAM-style) and cooler setup using AN lines/fittings. The design itself isn't a problem for me (Mechanical engineer by day), but I was wondering if there is anyone out there familiar enough with the N14 engine that can tell me the oil flow directions out of the engine and into the mount bracket so I'm not just guessing? Specifically I'm looking for which ports on the below pictures are inlets (i.e. oil going from engine to mount) and which ones are outlets (i.e. oil coming from mount back into the engine). Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks!

Thanks. So I've seen parts like that before, but I'm like 90% sure that goes on the filter mount part in place of the standard water cooling thing for the oil. So all you would be replacing is the method of oil cooling with that, but I'm looking to replace the entire oil filter assembly, not just the cooler.
