What is this?

I was checking the oil today and noticed this. A look on realOEM shows it to be a rubber mount for the engine.

What is the oil from? I check my oil regularly and upon seeing this I looked everywhere and cannot find any leaks. Are these things filled with oil? Has mine failed? Or am I in the wrong church and wrong pew?

Any help/advice is appreciated.

Thanks.

BTW, it is a 2006 MCS.

Walter

Yep engine mounts leak, they are filled with an oil.

Clean up the oil residue on the body best you can and replace the mount:

Here is the diagram:

^ Do the 03's have an oil filled engine mount? They look completely different, and I didn't think they did, but I noticed oil around mine the other day.

They have a little strap and look different. Where is the oil coming from, can you see?

Thanks

Oil is right at the bottom of the unit, think its the 12/2003 S one. No oil anywhere else. I had never heard of them leaking (unlike the newer ones) so I guess I assumed they didn't have oil in them. Looks like I'll be ordering one.

Thanks,

Nik
