I have a 2013 R60 Countryman ALL4. I have replaced the stereo with an android unit. The unit is plug and play in that it is prewired to just plug right into the existing wiring harness. Everything works perfectly, no complaints at all.It is a huge improvement...touchscreen, Carplay, etc. Let me know if you want to know more about it. Anyway, one issue I have is that my USB ports in the center console and glove box are dead. 12V sockets are fine. Even though the harness is identical, it's too coincidental with the install. Does anyone know how these ports are wired (where to\how they get their power)?
Good morning from Greece..have no answer for your questions..but i would like to give us more information about the anroid unit you put..a link maybe..thanks in advance...

Makismou,
Here it is: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000401057977.html. I am super happy with it.. Touch screen,, great sound, super cool with Carplay integration ($100 extra but worth it). fast shipping and great technical support. Dash disassembly was ALOT of work, reassembly much easier. But as said in in my original post, seems it killed my USB ports. I could have done something during the install which is why I was trying to figure out how the ports were wired.
Thanks Dan, that’s exactly what I needed to know. The new unit does not have the option to connect those round four pin connectors. Looking at the picture of the radio, in the link that you sent me, do you know which one of those connectors powers the USB ports? If so, I can jump it from somewhere else. Much appreciate your response, really glad to know that it was not a mistake on my part! Jim
I "think" there only is one 4 pin connector back there and the rest are RF, but don't quote me on that.
It looks like the one that is hanging lowest in your second pic.
What USB connection does the aftermarket radio have?
if for sure you aren't going to re-install your old radio, you could cut the wires and make your own connector, such as to USB-A if that's what the new deck uses.
It's standard USB, so power, ground, data+, data-. (Plus shield of course.)
I like the fact they went with a digital speedometer in order to make the screen larger, and also that they put the controls right on the screen at the bottom,
Thanks, I thought about that, then thought again and decided it was way too much trouble. Since the new unit does not have the disc player, the four pin round connectors have nowhere to go. They also control the joystick and other two buttons behind the shifter Those don't work anymore either, but they're unnecessary now anyway.. So, y'day I pulled out the controller altogether, as well as the usb\aux jack. I'm replacing the aux jack with a double USB rocker outlet. I'm also converting the 12V lighter outlet to a double USB. I'll have no shortage of outlets. On the digital speedo, yes, great, BUT....it's in KPH and can't be changed, LOL. I've got no issue with that, and I'm actually teaching myself the metric system as a result. The tach speedo still shows in MPH. Jim

Makismou, I understand your question, and I'm quite certain the answer is "no". In the new unit, that ring is integral to the face of the unit. Do you see the bright green color at the bottom of the face of the unit? That is an LED that loops around the unit and changes colors as the engine is revved, brakes applied, etc......very cool actually, especially at night. I would NOT recommend trying to remove the trim ring and risk damaging the front or the lighting. Jim

Dear Jim.....i have seen that LED light and i like it.. i had the same thoughts also about the risk and you just confirm them..
my new thought now is that i can put my chrome line circle ON that mat silver circle without moving tha last one..just to hide it..
its obvious that i dodnt like those mat silver circles (the three of them)!!!..
really thank you for your replies... the unit looks really good..big improvment...

Makismou, here are a couple of pics; one of the joystick and button controller removed (plastic plugs installed) and the new USB ports that replaced the cigarette outlet and the OEM aux-in/USB outlet.
