Hankook Ventus H405,Falken Ziex Ze-512,or Toyo Proxes 4?
Hankook Ventus H405,Falken Ziex Ze-512,or Toyo Proxes 4?
I have decided to toss the RF's
I think one of these three are for me (215/45/17).
I have done a search for the 405's and their was/is not much to read about.
I am looking for a relatively quite tire that handles light snow (1-3") and is sticky in the summer. I know, a lot to ask but odds are I will get new wheels and put high perf tires on there for the summer.
Thoughts? reviews? comparison between the three?
Thank you in advance for your help!

If you're thinking about price alone, I'd say to go with the Hankook Ventus HRII H405, they're on sale at Edge Racing for $67 each for the 215/45's. That's cheap. Plus they come with road-hazard for the first 25% of the tread life.
They also weigh less than the Proxes

A quick question, have you ever taken the last train to your town?
I have the Ziex's on my car. Initially, I was not happy with the handling on these tires compared to the Pirelli runflats but the overall ride is so much better with these tires (smoother, less wandering, less harsh impacts, less bumpiness).
Today was my first time in lots of snow (6 or more inches) and they handled fairly well. The DSC kicked in quite a bit and I was almost hung out to dry when pulling out of a gas station and it kicked in leaving me with one option - let off the gas until it kicked off. I thought I had allowed myself plenty of room to pull out but someone thought they should drive over the speed limit in the snowstorm we are having today.
Anyway, back to the Ziexs. I like them quite a bit. The initial turn in on dry pavement is not even close to the Pirellis but overall they handle well. I just needed to get used to them and have learned to enjoy them. Again, they ride so much better than the runflats.

I've also got the Falken 512's on my car. I've had them on for about 10,000 miles, and I've rotated them twice. They seem to be wearing very well. I'm about to install some H-Sport springs though, so we'll see how that works out.
I'd say you definitely can't go wrong, they're nice tires; especially nice when you compare them to the stock runflats.

215/45 might rub, but I know a few people running that set up just fine. I know 215/40 will work fine. H-Sports don't drop your car as much as other spring sets (as I understand it) so you should be fine, but maybe someone else has some better insight.
