New to me, R56

Hi guys. I'm back after a 6 year hiatus.
I picked up this laser blue 09 MCS 'premium package' from user Dr. Spade in Florida. It was an 8 hour drive one way, but I'm happy to have the project.
And project is putting it lightly. Battery dead, bald tires. He says his mechanic had the MAF and intake parts. So it runs...badly.

He told me it needed the oil filter housing fixed, but all I'm seeing is a big coolant leak. Which I have discovered is the plastic pipe going to the pump. So I've ordered a bunch of parts and hope to make some progress later this week.

Thank you. I recently rebuilt my 09 GTI engine from timing failure. I'm looking forward to bringing this one back to life as well!

Does anyone have a stock exhaust laying around? Or recommend me one that won't break the bank? This car has some kind of cobbled setup, even the downpipe looks made by a 5th grader. I've ordered 2.5" downpipe, but I'll need from the clamp back...especially the midpipe?

Looks good, hope everything is an easy fix. What all extras does it have, I see slotted and drilled rotors and it looks lower then my JCW springs. Good choice of wheels, Avanti Storms 17's in bright silver. That's what I roll on so I'm biased.

I have a complete exhaust from a 2011 cooper s that you can have, not sure if it fits yours though. I'm in south florida so it would be a bit of a drive for you.

Must be something to do with Blue. My '08 MCS needed almost the exact same. Dead battery, bald (cord showing) tires, BAD coolant leak (both water pumps, pipe, thermostat), leaking oil filter housing, and bad oil cooler (oil in water). While I had it all apart I also did the timing chain set, main seal, and did the walnut blast intake valve cleaning. Be sure to look at the intake valves when you have the manifold off for the water pipe. You will be grossed out. But luckily not hard to do.

I picked the car up in south Florida...I didn't know how bad the exhaust was until I jacked it up at home. Waymotorworks in Atlanta says they have one for $100, so I hope that's true.
The seller said walnut blasting has been done, but of course you never really know. He did give me a stack of receipts, the timing chain has been done 2 or 3 times already. Once because things were loose, not torqued properly. The engine was completely rebuilt by the dealership in 2015, cost almost $5000.
It has Swift spec R springs...they sit lower than advertised but I found one of the springs is off the perch. So I'm going to go through them, might get some height back.

Yeah, I thought so too. I was surprised it wasn't sold, but when I got there I saw why. All told I paid $2400.

Bit of a thread resurrection, but I'm wondering if you had any comments on the MFactory limited slip diff?

I've got the subframe out from under my car and am going to swap my kevlar clutch disc for a ceramic disc. Figured now is the time.
